Description:
This loco was the second to last 2-8-2 built for the Rock Island Line. Alco-Schenectady delivered CRIP 2-8-2 #2699 in April of 1927. Specs - 63" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 355,600 lb and tractive effort of 68,227 lb. With an added booster, the te increased by 11,244 lb. The loco was retired and sold for scrap in February of 1953. This is an R.H. Carlson photo.
