East Altoona Deadline, 1966
Description:
Waters. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-February of 1966. Shown here in this West-facing view are four deadlined locomotives. Visible in the center is PRR engine #9301, an FS-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. Also visible in the distance are the former Power Plant and one-half of the former 50-bay East Altoona Roundhouse. This photo taken from the cab of PRR engine #8943.
